Two Showers and a Baby

Last weekend was busy! I went to two wedding showers, we picked out music, and I had my bridal portraits taken. Whew!

Aunt Pat and my cousin April threw me a family shower. The highlight was getting to see April's new baby girl, Darcy. That's her in the picture. Isn't she sweet??? It was great to see everyone, and Roger's mom and sister even came in from Atlanta and Charleston.

They went all out with the food and decorations. Aunt Pat brought out her chocolate fountain and even made purple punch to go with our wedding colors. April made sausage balls and cocktail sausages (some of my favorite party foods). The favors were really cute too - tiny jars of mints wrapped in a printed copy of our save-the-date magnet.

The next day my church threw me a shower. I was completely overwhelmed by all the people that came and the love behind each of their gifts. Miss Alice crocheted us a blanket and banner with our name, Destiny framed our invitation, and Miss Brenda gave us a scrapbook for us to document our travels. Gail warned me that her gift was "weird" and it turned out to be wedding scrapbook supplies. Do these people know me or what? :) We also got a KitchenAid mixer (thanks Miss Rachel and Jordan!), which I plan to use for everything from mashed potatoes to pound cake - as soon as I get Miss Rachel's recipe.

Don't know who all these people are? Come to the wedding and I'll introduce you! ;)

Finally on Monday I hung out at the Bragg-Mitchell for my bridal portraits. I don't want to say much for fear of giving away to Roger what my dress looks like. But I will say that Mom and I learned we need a lot of practice getting into the wedding attire!

Next weekend is the bachelorette party in New Orleans and the bachelor party in Atlanta. Woo hoo!
