Cake, Shower, and Vows

This weekend Roger and I headed to Mobile for several wedding events. First, we picked out our cake. I won't describe it here because then you'll be surprised. But trust me it's pretty. :) We picked out a groom's cake too, so chocolate lovers are covered for the reception!

After choosing our cake, Roger headed off to spend quality time with Dad (i.e., take a nap, watch tv, and play nintendo ds), while Mom and I headed to my aunt's for a lingerie shower. We ate some great food, including chocolate-covered strawberries (thank goodness, b/c i was craving them after seeing pictures of them over and over again at the cake lady's shop!). I got a lot nice things and nothing too embarrassing (whew!). The best moment was when Miss June (my aunt's mom) told me her husband actually picked out my gift. I told her I'd try not to think about that in the future. :D

Sunday we met with Pastor Gail to go over the ceremony details. This included our vows and all the other stuff that goes on in the ceremony. Other than Gail shutting Roger down on including a part about obeying, everything went OK. ;) It was crazy to see our names in the vows. I think after this weekend we're starting to realize how close we are to getting hitched. And we're excited!
